Dr. Md. Shahidullah joined the National Academy for Development Administration as the Rector. He is a Secretary to the government. Prior to the present capacity, he worked as the Additional Secretary and the wing Chief of the Career Planning and Training (CPT) Wing of the Ministry of Public Administration. Before that, he worked as a Director in the Prime Minister’s Office.

He joined the civil service on 15.04.1994 and worked both in field administration and central government. He worked in various capacity such as Assistant Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Revenue Deputy Collector, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Senior Assistant Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary.

He did his graduation and post-graduation in Political Science from Jahangirnagar University.  He also obtained LLB degree from National University. Later he obtained PhD from Jahangirnagar University.

Mr. Shahidullah received training at various institutions and universities in the country and abroad for different periods. He participated in Law and admin Course from BCSAA and Foundation training course and ACAD course from BPATC. Apart from that he also participated in various foreign training course such as Sustainable Rural Development from Mekong Institute, Khon Kaen, Thailand. Training on Project Management rom AIT, Thailand and University of Malaysia, Kualalumpur. He also participated in Training on Renewable Rural Energy, Environment and Hygiene for Officials from Developing Countries from Jiangxi College of Foreign Studies, Nanchang, China and Electronic Government Procurement Management form ITC, ILO, Italy.

Mr. Md. Shahidullah is married to Dr. Farida Yasmin and they have two daughters and one son.
